Music Ensembles Adult Choir The Adult Choir’s purpose is to lead, enable, and inspire the singing of liturgy, psalms, and hymns in worship. The choir sings a variety of music, from renaissance motets to hymn concertatos to spirituals, and frequently sing a capella. Directed by Sarah Williams, the choir meets from September through May each year, rehearsing each Thursday evening from 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm. They sing at one service each Sunday and at both services on Reformation and Easter Sundays. In addition, the choir sings for various special services throughout the year, such as Twelfth Night, Ash Wednesday, and Maundy Thursday, and sings in the Pilgrim Fine Arts Series’ annual hymn festival. Fall 2008 Choir Schedule Children's Choir The Children's Choir offers the opportunity for singers in Kindergarten through sixth grade to praise and worship together. Directed by Gail Powell, they meet on Wednesdays during the school year in conjunction with Kids in Christ (5:45 pm - 7:00 pm). The Children’s Choir sings in worship throughout the year and at the Christmas Eve family service. They also perform a musical in the spring. If singing, acting, and a little dancing sound fun, join us for choir and Kids in Christ Wednesday nights! Pilgrim RingersPilgrim Ringers is the handbell ensemble at Pilgrim. Directed by Kevin Donley, the group meets every Thursday during the school year at 6:00 pm in the balcony for rehearsal. It is open to anyone high school age through adults. No prior bell experience is necessary however, the ability to read music is helpful.The full choir plays an average of one Sunday a month. In addition, smaller groups perform as needed for accompaniment to hymns, psalms, and choir anthems.Flute ChoirThis new ensemble currently has four members. Directed by Sarah Williams, the group plays for worship throughout the year. Flute players of all ability levels are welcomed. Combo Group The Combo Group consists of people who love to praise God with contemporary song. Members of this group sing and play for alternative worship each month, and the group strives to sing for worship throughout the year. Sunday Worship 8:00 am and 10:45 am with Holy Communion; 9:30 am Sunday School. A staffed Nursery is provided every Sunday from 8:00 am - 12:00 pm. Contemporary Worship is on the second Sunday of the month during the 10:45 am service. All other services are generally traditional but frequently offer special music. Wednesday Evening Prayer with Holy Communion 7:00 pm Summer 2007 (Memorial Day through Labor Day) 9:30 am Worship with Holy Communion. No Sunday School
